Local food from our kitchen
At Moorfield House we take great pride in the quality of our cuisine, everything is prepared in-house and we try to use local produce and suppliers wherever possible. (Please inform us of any particular dietary requirements or allergies you may have.)
We get our meats from local, award-winning butchers, who make their own haggis, black pudding and sausages. Our dairy products are sourced locally and our cheeses are from the Connage Highland Dairy.
Our eggs come from the Glebe Farm within the village and our fish is sourced from Portsoy on the Moray coast.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we always strive to ensure it is as pleasurable as possible. (Take a peek at our breakfast menu before you book).
There are two restaurants which are both within easy walking distance of Moorfield House, Anderson’s Bistro ( Tel:- 01479 831466) and The Boat Hotel (Tel:- 01479 831258 ). We would suggest booking in advance to avoid disappointment.. There is, of course, further choice in Aviemore which is just 10 minutes drive away.
At Moorfield House we are licensed to serve alcoholic drinks to our guests.
We have a good selection of Speyside single malt whiskies, some of which you may not have discovered before. Our wine list includes wines from France, Australia, South America and Spain.
In choosing our wines, we have found wines that offer good value for money, without compromising on quality. We also stock a good range of Cairngorm beers from the local brewery.
